Case Study
Techni-Clean Australia
Techni-Clean Australia is a large pressure cleaning and graffiti removal company located in several states. They currently hold contracts with several cities. These contracts entail anything from the cleaning of public artwork and statues, to removal of posters and graffiti on a daily basis.
The Problem
As per some of their contracts, the Techni-Clean Sydney Depot is required to record a vast amount of data – from before and after photos to graffiti locations and tagger IDs. As the company would complete several hundred jobs per day, the paperwork formerly used for recording this information became a troublesome and burdening factor for the business. Paperwork would be filled out in the field by workers, a photograph would then be taken on a digital camera, and this information would then have to be matched up at back at the depot, transcribed onto an excel spreadsheet, then manually entered into a database. During this process, errors would occur in either recording or transcribing the data – resulting in a high ratio of erroneous records. All in all, the system was costing Techni-Clean large amounts of money and time.
The EIDO Solution
Techni-Clean converted their processes to EIDO in mid 2011. Their workers can now record data quickly and easily on an iPhone,
using the phone’s camera to take pictures, return GPS coordinates, and quickly and easily copy information about similar jobs. The data no longer has to manually entered into any system, as
the workers can simply transmit the job they are doing back to EIDO central database. This in turn allows managers back at the depot to have a
real-time overview of ground operations, which has allowed them to organise and enhance operations.
EIDO also allows data analysis in the form of instant quality assurance, rapid report generation and resource overview. Furthermore, the records created via EIDO are exceedingly more accurate. Since the implementation of EIDO in Techni-Clean Sydney Depot, savings are estimated to be in the range of $45,000 per year, and employee efficiency has increased around 13% per worker.
